培训项目概述
Forest and wildlife conservation are essential for the stability and resilience of ecosystems. They help preserve biodiversity – the key pillar of ecological balance. Sustainable wildlife and forestry practices can support economic growth and positively influence human well-being. Moreover, healthy forests and wetlands can serve as natural buffers against natural disasters. The forest and wildlife conservation workshop has been designed to provide key insights into sustainable forest and wildlife management. It helps delegates identify, protect, and restore critical habitats. In addition, the programme focuses on the enhancement of essential skills needed to address specific threats to biodiversity and bolster conservation efforts.
Host Country Profile The country of Nepal possesses 118 different types of ecosystems. It is home to a variety of megafauna and nearly 12,000 species of flora. More than 23% of the country’s land is a declared protected area with twelve national parks, one wildlife reserve, one hunting reserve, and six conservation areas. Each national park possesses its own buffer zone that facilitates human-wildlife coexistence. Nepal is on the front line with its commitment to the conservation and sustainable management of all natural resources and life forms. In addition to the protected areas, various schemes of forest management have been put in place. The country promotes active engagement of local communities in conservation efforts alongside the involvement of international actors and NGOs.
Delivered by Risalat Consultants International in Pokhara, Nepal, it combines expert-led sessions, real cases and group work, so that participants can apply what they learn in their own institution.
