Content Effort and Reach Estimator

Before you commit a team or an agency budget, see what a content plan really takes. Choose your industry, quality level and platform mix. The estimator calculates production time a week, a cost range if you outsource, the posting frequency each platform needs and a reach and engagement range. Every assumption is shown and you can replace it with your own figures.

Who it is for

  • Managers budgeting for content or an agency
  • Creators deciding how much they can take on
  • Communications teams writing a content strategy
  • Proposal writers costing a communications component

What you get

  • Hours a week and a month, split by production, review, community and planning
  • An outsourcing cost range
  • Posting frequency needed on each platform
  • A reach and engagement range, clearly labelled as an estimate
  • A table of every assumption, default or yours

How this tool works

Built on
Transparent cost and reach model: posts x hours per format x quality multiplier, plus review, community care and planning time; reach = followers x reach rate + discovery views, engagement = reach x engagement rate.
Scoring
No score. Every figure is calculated from the assumptions table in the result, which shows which values are defaults and which are yours.
Limitations
The default reach, discovery and engagement values are wide placeholders, not industry benchmarks. Views are not unique people.
Your data
What you type stays in your browser unless you save it to a free account. We receive your name, email and summary only when you open your results.

Questions

Are the reach numbers reliable?

They are only as good as the assumptions. The defaults are deliberately wide placeholders. After four weeks of posting, replace them with the averages from your own analytics.

Why does my industry change the hours?

Regulated or public-facing sectors usually need more review and approval time. The default share is shown and you can change it.

Can I use this to compare agency quotes?

Yes. Enter the agency's hourly rate range and the planned mix to see whether the quote matches the hours the plan needs.

Based on

Sources checked: November 2026. We check the official sources every month.

Estimates from stated assumptions, not forecasts or benchmarks. Reach depends on topic, quality, timing and platform changes that no calculator can predict. Replace the defaults with your own data.
