About the role
The Senior Energy and Sustainability Consultant advises institutions, utilities and companies on energy efficiency, decarbonisation, resilience and sustainability reporting. The role also designs and delivers training in these fields.
Energy transition and climate commitments create strong demand for practical expertise in donor-financed and public projects. Senior consultants help clients move from plans to measurable results. Engagement is project-based consulting.
Responsibilities
- Assess energy use, efficiency opportunities and sustainability performance.
- Develop practical decarbonisation, resilience and resource-efficiency recommendations.
- Prepare technical models, business cases and implementation plans.
- Advise on reporting frameworks and GHG accounting.
- Support climate finance and Paris-alignment considerations in projects.
- Facilitate client workshops and deliver training.
- Review environmental and social aspects with safeguards specialists.
- Write clear technical reports for decision-makers.

- Energy and sustainability assessments.

What we are looking for
Essential
- Relevant engineering, energy or sustainability expertise.
- Substantial delivery experience in audits, modelling or advisory.
- Familiarity with climate and sustainability frameworks such as the GHG Protocol.
- Clear technical writing and presentation.
- Experience advising senior clients.
- Excellent English.
Desirable
- Experience with donor-financed energy projects.
- Certified Energy Manager or similar.
- Knowledge of ISO 50001 or ISO 14001.
- Climate finance or carbon market experience.
