Présentation du programme

Governments are frequently the largest purchasers of various products, services, and works. Given the global commitment to sustainable development, many developed countries have started incorporating green approaches into their public procurement practices. Green public procurement (GPP) refers to the process through which public authorities integrate environmental considerations into their purchasing decisions. It is a powerful tool contributing to environmental protection, market transformation, and the creation of more resilient and equitable societies.

This Training has been exclusively developed by Risalat for public procurement professionals and governmental entities to help them leverage their purchasing power. As a result, they can bolster sustainable development, mitigate climate change, conserve resources, and broaden the market for green products and services.

Throughout the programme in Berlin, its delegates will acquire knowledge and skills essential to driving the demand for eco-friendly alternatives. In addition, they will learn about innovative green public procurement practices that contribute to the transition to a low-carbon economy. The ultimate aim of the programme is to aid the creation of GPP professionals that will be in peak demand very soon.

Profil du pays d'accueil

According to the OECD, Public procurement represents an estimated 15% of German GDP. This translates into an immense sum of EUR 500 billion per year. Public procurement affects all areas of well-being, including the economic, human, social, and environmental dimensions.

GPP is an important element of Germany’s sustainability strategy. The Federal Government, along with the federal states and local authorities, has been actively promoting GPP intending to achieve a range of environmental and climate policy goals. These include the reduction in greenhouse gas emissions, conservation of natural resources, promotion of renewable energy, and gradual transition to a circular economy.
