Program Introduction

Being one of the oldest phenomena, migration is a fact of life. Humans have constantly been moving across societies, however, throughout recent decades such movements have substantially scaled up. An increase in legal inflows supplemented by an enhanced number of asylum seekers showcases that push factors of international migration have become stronger than ever. Today 1 in every 30 people is a migrant and about 4% of the global population. In the face of such an upward trend, the tensions over migration have been increasing. Unfortunately, migration is too often seen as a threat rather than an opportunity. One of the main reasons behind such perception is the lack of integration in recipient societies.

Integration is a proven and effective way for comprehensive migration management. It lays the grounds for security, stability, social harmony, and the prosperity of society as a whole. Integration means migrants can fully engage in society’s economic, social, and political lives, develop their human capital, and foster the economic growth of the host country.

This training course has been exclusively developed by Risalat to provide learners with a thorough understanding of migration and refugee integration policies, frameworks, and tools as well as challenges associated with promoting migrant acceptance and rights among host societies.
