General Computer Skills Training in Urozgan

 

The project was implemented in the course of 38 days out of which (excluding holidays) the three training sessions were conducted in 28 days. A total of 45 trainees participated in the three sessions who were lower and mid-level employees of SCI Trinkot office, while some of the participants were introduced by organizations like HADAAF, ACTED and DT-3 which work in partnership with SCI in Urozgan, Afghanistan

The training delegates are working in different departments in their respective organizations such as: M&E, Training, Logistics, CBE, Admin and Finance, etc.

The program was part of Risalat’s quarterly planned events in Kabul during 29th and 30th of September, 2013. This is a brief details of proceedings of a two day program on Professional Report Writing delivered by one of Risalat’s skilled consultants who has years of practical experience in conducting similar workshops, reporting standards and in-charge of capacity building projects. The program was promoted through different media outlets in Afghanistan and candidates were registered from different organizations. The program was conducted at Risalat’s training hall Kabul office.

This training workshop was organized in response to a Request for Quotations which was issued by The Health Unit of Swedish Committee for Afghanistan (SCA) for two days training workshop on the topic of Professional Report Writing. Risalat Consultants International (RCI) submitted a price quotation in response to the RFQ and it was accepted by SCA. The workshop was designed for 20 staff members from different provinces working with the SCA’s Health Unit. The training program was conducted 07-08 October 2012 at SCA’s Kabul Management Office (KMO).

Conducted two days workshop on “Professional Report Writing” for 15 members of the provincial staff of AECOM SIKA-W in Herat, Afghanistan.

A total of 15 participants from different sections of the SIKA-W headquarters in Herat and their provincial offices in Ghor, Badghis and Farah, and some partner organizations were invited for participation in the training. Most of the participants were mid-level employees of SIKA-W who
are responsible for preparing and submitting reports either about their own or their subordinates’ activities in the field.

The session was conducted as a result of a public bidding by SIKA-W for implementation of the training program which was awarded to Risalat Consultants Int’ in result of submitting the winning proposal. The training was completed, as planned, in two days 04 – 05 November, 2013 in Herat, Afghanistan.

Overview of proceedings of the three days training program on “Human Resource Management” which was conducted for 18 member group of participants introduced by Development and Humanitarian Services for Afghanistan (DHSA), The Killid Group (TKG) at Intercontinental Hotel, Kabul.

The session was conducted as a result of a public bidding by DHSA-TKG for undertaking the assignment which was awarded to Risalat after the submission of the winning proposal. The training was completed, in three days, as planned.

The participants were all coming with some management background and responsibilities for managing a group of sub-ordinates. They belonged to different parts of the organization like The Killid Radio (both Kabul and provincial stations), the magazines published by TKG, and the parent organization, DHSA itself.

Workshop Contents

Risalat conducts HRM trainings & Workshop on a routine basis and the course contents for those programs are more focused on specific aspects of HR management which are aimed at audiences who are directly responsible for managing the personnel and intend to build their basis in the field. However, for this program, some additional topics were added as their suggested delegates were not all from the basic level and they needed some general managerial skills useful not only for HR but other managers as well. Program Impact

We can conclude that the three day training program was a success and it went ahead very well. The final post-test and the evaluation forms show that the trainees improved on the topics that they had limited information about and after this they will be able to perform their duties in a more organized manner and as a result will prove more productive and fruitful for achieving DHSA-TKG’s goals and objectives.

Implementation of the Baseline Survey which was funded by Stability in Key Areas-West (SIKA-W) – A project of USAID/AECOM and was conducted by Risalat Consultants International (RCI) in three western provinces of Herat, Badghis and Farah covering 210 villages during 15 April – 04 May, 2013. The project was implemented in two major steps Pilot Survey and Actual Survey.

Through this survey, SIKA-W wanted to establish a baseline regarding the present situation of residents in the target districts/villages from security, social and economic points of view. The outcomes of the survey would serve as baseline for projects aimed at improving the overall living conditions of the residents to be implemented by SIKA-W in the target villages.

Conducted three days training program for Aga Khan Foundation on Sustainable Management of Common Property Resources delivered by Risalat Consultants International to District Governors and their staff members from different districts in Takhar, Afghanistan.

The program was organized as a result of an open bidding by Aga Khan Foundation which was awarded to Risalat after submitting the winning proposal. It was conducted in three days on time, as planned 21-23 November, 2015.

A group of 19 trainees participated in the program, who were District Governors from nine different districts in Takhar province accompanied by either their Executive Managers or Admin Managers.

Program Impact

The program was a success & highly important for participants. The performance throughout the training, a visible change could be witnessed in their understanding of different concepts shared through the program. The final post-test and the evaluation forms show that the trainees improved on the topics that they had limited information about.

The Program over three days 25th to 27th of August, 2013 was conducted by one of RCI’s expert consultants who have years of experience in the industry and conducting similar programs.

To enable the participants gain maximum benefit from the workshop, during the program, after gauging the existing knowledge and capabilities of the participants; different ideas, concepts and some latest participatory methodologies were used along with group work, short games, effective discussions, practical practices/sample projects, case studies and etc.

Conducted Three sessions of training workshops for the Swedish Committee of Afghanistan (SCA) during the months of September and October, 2012.

The series of trainings were organized in response to SCA’s request for quotations for conducting the trainings to its School Consultants working with different schools in 12 provinces of Afghanistan. Risalat offered the winning quotation and was asked to conduct the trainings. All the three sessions were conducted at SCA’s Kabul Management Office (KMO).

Each training was a three day event which covered the same topics delivered to three groups of participants, totaling 80 School Consultants (61 male, 19 female) working with different schools. The first session was conducted from 25 to 27 of September, second; 02 to 04 October and third; 09 to 11 October, 2012.

Communication and Fundraising Workshop was a four day event conducted by Risalat Consultants International (RCI) in October, 2012 by two of RCI’s experts who have years of experience in conducting similar Programs. The participants introduced by the Swedish Committee for Afghanistan (SCA) were members of Disabled Persons’ Organizations (DPOs) working with SCA under its Rehabilitation of Afghans with Disabilities (RAD) program which is now implemented by SCA in 13 different provinces of Afghanistan.

During the program different delivery participatory methodologies were used in order to enable the participants gain maximum benefit from the workshop and share their experiences with one another. Part of program evaluation, a graphical representation of  participants’ feedback provided to SCA along with the report at the end of the program.
