How this tool works

Built on
ISO 21502 and APM Body of Knowledge practice areas, UK IPA Project Routemap, AACE cost engineering practice and ISO 31000, combined into eight PMO control areas.
Scoring
Each answer scores from 0 (not in place) to 4 (fully in place). An area's score is the points earned as a share of the maximum for the questions you answered; the overall score is the average of the areas. Bands: Initial 0–39%, Defined 40–69%, Managed 70–100%.
Limitations
Self-reported answers, not verified. It does not replace a formal maturity assessment (such as P3M3) or an independent assurance review.
Your data
What you type stays in your browser unless you save it to a free account. We receive your name, email and summary only when you open your results.

Team or organisation
With a free account you can invite colleagues from each department to answer the same questions. You get a consolidated dashboard: scores by area and department, where colleagues disagree, priority gaps and an action plan. Anonymous mode hides names and groups departments with fewer than 3 responses.

Questions

Is this only for giga-projects?

No. It suits any large or multi-contractor programme, including big donor-financed projects with several works contracts. The questions are about how well the programme is controlled, whatever its size.

Can several departments answer?

Yes. With a free account you can invite colleagues from planning, cost, risk, contracts and the client side, and see where their views differ.

Does it replace P3M3 or a gate review?

No. It is a quick self-check that shows where to focus. A formal maturity assessment or independent gate review goes deeper and looks at evidence.

A guidance tool, not a formal assessment, audit or legal opinion. Your contracts, the financier's policies and national law always take precedence.
